All our doors and windows can be supplied as "plain" glass, ie with no Georgian bars. The additional charge for this is £220.00 per cabin

We offer you the option to have toughened glass installed into the fully glazed double doors.

All windows and single door units are pre-mounted in their frame. The frame sits in the wall opening and the framing boards then "sandwich" the frame to hold it in position - this allows the wall logs to move independently of the frame. Double doors work in the same way, but you are required to put the pre-cut frame together and screw the corners to hold it together.

We are currently using Barrattine Wood Preserver to treat the external surfaces of the log cabins. We have been impressed with its properties not least the fact that it is oil based and has a number of colour options, including clear. For this cabin, we calculate you will need a total of 15 litres to apply a minimum of two coats to the external surfaces. We can supply this at a cost of £84.00

The colour swatches are an indication only and representative of the product applied to clean new/pale timber. The final colour finish can vary considerably due to the age, type & condition of the timber being treated. We always recommend carrying out a test area first in an inconspicuous area to make sure you are happy with the final dried colour.

Manufacturers Information

A high-quality, low odour oil/Spirit wood preservative which is deep penetrating. Barrettine wood preserver is used for wood protection against wood destroying fungi (wet rot), wood discolouring fungi and wood boring insects. Provides a semi-transparent matt/satin finish allowing the natural wood texture to be visible. Can be used on pressure treated wood, treated timber or untreated wood. Suitable for rough, sawn or smooth timber, does not require over sealing for wood protection.

No subsequent top coat product required unless for aesthetic purposes. For outdoor use and also for use on windows/frames, external doors/frames (internal and external sections). The Barrettine clear wood preserver can also be used on structural timbers in unoccupied areas such as floor joists.

Application

Can be sprayed using an airless sprayer such as a Wagner or Graco ideally using a minimum 1mm flat fan tip nozzle (9 - 11 thou tip). The sprayer must be thoroughly cleaned after application with white spirit and then oiled to protect the tip and moving parts (as per manufacturer's instructions). This product cannot be sprayed with a traditional pump action garden sprayer.

• Ensure wood to be treated is dry, free from dirt and repellent coatings such as paint or varnish. (remove and sand down as required)
• Recommend using a biocidal wash such as Barrettine Knockout Mould and Mildew prior to treatment
• The final colour finish can vary considerably due to the age, type and condition of the timber being treated. We always recommend carrying out a test area first in an inconspicuous area to make sure you are happy with the final dried colour
• Brush, dip, roller or spray in suitable conditions. (When used outdoors make sure weather conditions are dry and still)
• Coverage: 180ml per m2 or 1 litre to 5-6 sq metres
• Drying times: 12 hours under normal conditions (20°C/65% rel. humidity)
• Best results – recommend 2-3 applications/coats

The units will be supplied complete with frame boards to mount the item into the opening.

New openings can be cut according to the required location and size of unit. Make sure you allow additional space around the unit for expansion and contraction (approx. 20mm all round)

Note : The door units are taller than our standard items and as such require an additional row of wall logs to fit. Bear this in mind if you are restricted to a ridge height of 2.5m

To work out the extra cost of these high quality units, note how many and which units any of the cabins have and add up the difference. The price quoted is per unit.

The cabin installation service is available throughout the UK and is carried out by approved contractors (Important : Installers are not sub contractors of Garden Adventure Ltd)

• You will need to provision a prepared base, this must be firm, level and stable. These can also be supplied and fitted by installers if required. If the installation team are not satisfied with the condition on arrival, further charges may be made for rectification work in order to proceed with installation. At worse, the installation may have to be postponed, with a chargeable fee of 30% of original costs for a second visit. By agreeing to installation you accept these terms.
• Due to scheduling it may not be possible to coincide delivery and installation on the same day, but generally, installation is carried out within a few days of delivery.
• The installation team will require access to 240v power supply. Extension leads will be provided.
• Guarantee - 12 months on workmanship.
• All packaging will be left in a tidy state but disposal is the responsibility of the customer.
• All fees associated with installation are paid directly to the installation team and as such your contract is between yourself and the contractor

By agreeing to installation you accept these terms

When adding installation into the basket, you will only be charged a £30.00 retainer. The balance for installation will be paid directly to the installation team on satisfactory completion of the install.
