We may be more used to garden log cabins and garden summer houses, but the trend for UK holidays has seen travel companies wanting to bring the experience of luxury log cabins with hot tubs to holidaymakers in the UK.

A planning application has been submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council, requesting permission to build eight log cabin lodges, comprising of a kitchen, dining room, living room, and an outdoor seating area on a veranda.

Log Cabin On A Budget

"The proposed development would benefit the Cheshire West economy whilst complementing the wide-ranging existing tourist visitor accommodation in the area,” states a design and access statement, prepared on behalf of the applicants.

The application sets out that the borough attracts approximately 25 million visitors every year, which is worth around £1.2 billion to the local economy, and that the development of luxury log cabins would provide accommodation close to several nearby attractions, increasing tourism in the area.

"[The site] is very close to Oulton Park with its calendar of Formula 3, saloon cars and superbikes races,” the application states. "Oulton Park also offers the opportunity for people to hire a racing or rally car under supervision. Other nearby local attractions include balloon or micro-light flights and horse riding.”

It went on to say that the Crocky Trail adventure playground, Blakemere Village, and Snugbury’s Ice Cream are all close by for families to visit, and couples could also enjoy the nearby fine-dining at Nunsmere Hall, a trip to Weetwood Brewery and Distillery, and golf or spa days at Portal Hotel at Tarporley.
