Gable ends are notoriously subjectt o knocks, often causing damage or even a total fracture.
By giving this point support and protection, the risk of damage is averted.
Here you can see the supporting block, screwed into the underside of the gable end.
The support block needs to be removed before the gable assembly can be installed.
And once removed, the join can be clearly seen.
Just be careful when lifting into position that this join is not damaged !
